The Valentins story*

The name goes back to St Valentine, the patron saint of people in love, who lived in a monastery in Terni in Italy in the 3rd century. Monastic breweries stand for a tradition way of life and the art of brewing. Monks brewed excellent beers, and thus laid the foundation stone for our beers today, as early as in the early Middle Ages, often after many years of trial-and-error. It may well be that Valentins Weißbier*is more than 100 years old and has its roots in a monastery in southern Germany. That its recipe is still in existence we owe to a former Heidelberg brewery that brewed it until 1996.

The concept

Falling in love or being in love – if you are in that state you deserve special treatment. St Valentine knew this and helped couples in love. Nothing is better than preserving this special moment in life. Valentins Premium Weißbier* (wheat beer) is delicious and special enough: cloudy, tangy and with the colour of bright amber, brewed the traditional way and in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. Exactly what you need for 365 refreshing Valentine’s Days as St Valentine would have loved them.

The quality

For Valentins Premium Weißbier*, the best ingredients (various malts, sun-ripened wheat and finest yeasts) are brewed carefully and in accordance with the Bavarian Purity law dated 1516. During the 7-hour brewing process, the ingredients are mashed at 76°C and carefully boiled. After 6 days of fermentation, the beer will age for 3 weeks and become our full-bodied, tangy and yeasty amber Valentins Premium Weißbier*.

Valentine's Day
