335 years of experience for Eichbaum’s beer specialities

You wonder why the Eichbaum beer specialities are so delicious? Probably because all our beers contain more than 335 years of Palatine brewing traditions and experience. And probably also because our master brewers always win gold medals. We don’t try to do it the easy way when it comes to such proof of our products’ quality. We therefore do not choose special beers but for the DLG tests nominate our most popular ones from the latest production batches (DLG = Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft e. V.; German Agricultural Society).

Festbier

Festbier, also called Märzbier, is a bottom-fermenting beer which, as the name says (März = March), has always been brewed in March in order to be consumed at the Oktoberfest in September. So it is ideal for all Oktoberfest fans. It is dark in colour, full-bodied, with a slightly sweet malty taste, round bitters and a typically full-bodied finish and, of course, brewed in accordance with the Purity Law. Festbier goes back to 1553. In the then applicable brewing ordinance it was set forth that brewing may only take place between 29th of September and 23rd of April. So in order to have beer available in spring and summer, they brewed a very durable beer, our Festbier.
